Panhandle · county seat Panama City
Bay County was rebuilt at scale after Hurricane Michael, so a great deal of its roof stock is newer and built to a tougher standard than the age of the neighbourhoods suggests. Those roofs take attachments well. Beach-side addresses still get the full corrosion look, because Gulf salt is no gentler than Atlantic salt.

How we cover this county
Bay County is outside our daily Orlando to Miami run, so we are not going to pretend there is a van around the corner. The Panhandle is the longest drive we make inside Florida, and we will not pretend otherwise. We come here in blocks, several jobs across several counties on one trip, booked well ahead. If your job is the right size, or if it can wait for the next run, it is genuinely worth doing. If it is a single small repair, we will say so and point you at what to ask a local contractor.
On the ground in Bay County
Bay County permits through the county or Panama City, Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven and Callaway. Hurricane Michael flattened a great deal of the county in 2018 and the rebuild that followed was built to current code rather than the code of the original neighbourhood, so a house here is frequently far stronger than its street suggests. Those decks take attachments well. Beach-side addresses still get the full corrosion inspection, because Gulf salt is no gentler than Atlantic salt and the hardware ages identically. This is a long drive from our base and it is booked in blocks.
Bay County is post-Michael rebuilds. The roofs are good; the arrays that went back on them during the rush are the part we get asked to check.
Panhandle
The Panhandle is still rebuilding from Hurricane Michael, which means an unusual amount of the roof stock is newer and built to a tougher standard than the age of the neighbourhoods suggests. Those roofs take attachments well. Metal roofing is far more common here than in peninsular Florida, and metal needs completely different hardware from shingle. This is our longest drive in the state and it is booked well ahead.

FAQ
Yes. There is a minimum job size that makes the drive make sense, and we will tell you honestly on the first call whether yours fits.
We do. The reinstall needs a solar permit from Panama City or the Bay County building department, depending on the address, and in Florida only a licensed solar or electrical contractor can pull it. We handle it and meet the inspector.
It changes what fails. Salt air eats rails, clamps and grounding hardware long before it touches a panel, so on any Bay County job near the water we inspect every fastener before agreeing to put an array back on a new roof. Corroded hardware does not go back up.
