How we cover this county
Okaloosa County is outside our daily Orlando to Miami run, so we are not going to pretend there is a van around the corner. The Panhandle is the longest drive we make inside Florida, and we will not pretend otherwise. We come here in blocks, several jobs across several counties on one trip, booked well ahead. If your job is the right size, or if it can wait for the next run, it is genuinely worth doing. If it is a single small repair, we will say so and point you at what to ask a local contractor.
On the ground in Okaloosa County
Okaloosa permits through the county at Crestview or through Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Niceville. The county splits between a dense beach resort economy along the coast and a large military and commuter community inland around Eglin and Crestview. Coastal condos and beach houses take a hammering from salt and the hardware shows it within a few years. The inland half is ordinary suburban shingle work. Far west of our base, so this gets planned in blocks with Santa Rosa and Escambia rather than as a single call-out.

Panhandle
The Panhandle is still rebuilding from Hurricane Michael, which means an unusual amount of the roof stock is newer and built to a tougher standard than the age of the neighbourhoods suggests. Those roofs take attachments well. Metal roofing is far more common here than in peninsular Florida, and metal needs completely different hardware from shingle. This is our longest drive in the state and it is booked well ahead.

FAQ
Yes. There is a minimum job size that makes the drive make sense, and we will tell you honestly on the first call whether yours fits.
We do. The reinstall needs a solar permit from Crestview or the Okaloosa County building department, depending on the address, and in Florida only a licensed solar or electrical contractor can pull it. We handle it and meet the inspector.
It changes what fails. Salt air eats rails, clamps and grounding hardware long before it touches a panel, so on any Okaloosa County job near the water we inspect every fastener before agreeing to put an array back on a new roof. Corroded hardware does not go back up.
