Permits, power and what the roofs are actually like

Flagler permits through the county at Bunnell or through Palm Coast, which is most of the population. Palm Coast is unusual in Florida: a planned community built in waves on a consistent street grid with a narrow range of house types, mostly shingle. That consistency cuts both ways. Quoting is fast once we have done one, and when a roof generation reaches end of life the whole neighbourhood follows within two or three years, so we often end up doing several houses on the same street in the same season.

Palm Coast is uniform enough that when one roof generation starts failing, the whole street follows within a couple of years. We tend to get several calls from the same neighbourhood.

Northeast Florida runs on municipal power around Jacksonville and cooperatives everywhere else, so the reconnection route changes depending on which side of a county line the house sits. There is a large installed base here and a genuine shortage of companies willing to take over somebody else's array, which is most of why we get called this far north.
