Permits, power and what the roofs are actually like

DeSoto permits through the county at Arcadia. This is inland agricultural Southwest Florida and it has taken repeated storm damage, most recently from Ian passing directly over it, which put a great many roofs back to bare deck. Where solar was involved the array came off in a hurry and went back on faster still. Ranch buildings, packing houses and ground-mounted systems on acreage feature as heavily as houses. What we mostly get asked to do here is find out what a rushed reinstall did to the attachments before the next storm finds out for us.

Southwest Florida is still working through Hurricane Ian. The volume of roof replacement across Lee, Charlotte and Sarasota since has been unlike anything else in the state, and a great many arrays came off in a hurry and went back on with whoever was available that week. Loose clamps, reused mounts and unflashed penetrations from that period are what we are called out to now, usually when a ceiling starts staining.
