Palm Beach County · Florida
Loxahatchee and The Acreage are rural, with houses on lots of an acre or more along dirt roads. Arrays here sit on the house, a detached garage or a pole barn, and the wire runs between buildings are longer than anywhere in the suburbs to the east.

On the ground in Loxahatchee
Most of this area is unincorporated, so permits go through Palm Beach County's building division, while the Town of Loxahatchee Groves, incorporated in 2006, sets its own rules inside its limits. FPL is the utility throughout. The Acreage began as Royal Palm Beach Colony, laid out in one-acre lots with few land restrictions, and the Indian Trail Improvement District still maintains its roads and drainage canals. Houses range from older wood-frame homes to block houses from the 1980s onward, often with additions built in stages. Frances and Jeanne struck within three weeks of each other in 2004, and the older frame houses took the worst of it. On October 9, 2024, a tornado spawned by Hurricane Milton cut through The Acreage and Loxahatchee Groves. Many homes run on private wells, and an array without a battery shuts down in an outage, so it will not keep the pump running.
Along Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, Okeechobee Boulevard and the lettered roads of Loxahatchee Groves, arrays sit on homes, garages and barns, often far from the main electrical panel. After a storm like the 2024 tornado, panels have to come off before a roofer can start, and debris damage to glass and rails needs sorting out. Heavy rain softens the dirt roads, so we plan truck access and staging around the weather.

FAQ
Yes, every week. Loxahatchee is on our Orlando to Miami route, so it is normal scheduling with no travel charge, and the reinstall is lined up with your roofer's tear-off date.
Only a licensed solar or electrical contractor, because a roofing license does not cover it. The reinstall usually needs its own permit and inspection through Palm Beach County or the city, depending on the address.
Homes in Loxahatchee are generally served by FPL. When an array goes back on after a roof job the utility usually needs to know, and the building department normally inspects the reinstall before the system is switched back on.
Usually. The installer's own workmanship warranty is gone, but the panels, inverter and optimizers carry manufacturer warranties that normally still apply, and a dead system is often one failed part rather than a worn-out array.

The address, roughly how many panels, who installed them if you know, and what is happening. A photo of the array from the street and one of the inverter get you an accurate number fastest, and texting them is the quickest way to send them.
