Volusia County · Florida
Deltona began in 1962 as Deltona Lakes, a planned community, and became a city in 1995. Its houses went up a few streets at a time over the following decades, nearly all single-story block. Power comes from either FPL or Duke Energy depending on the street, so reinstall paperwork goes to whichever company sends the bill.

How we cover it
Deltona is outside our weekly Orlando to Miami run, so work here is booked ahead and grouped with other jobs in Space Coast. The drive is priced into the written quote, never added later. Call or text with the roofer's tear-off date and we will tell you which week works.
On the ground in Deltona
Deltona has issued its own building permits since incorporating; before that, everything here went through Volusia County, which still handles nearby unincorporated communities such as Enterprise and Osteen. Florida Power & Light and Duke Energy Florida split the city, and each runs its own interconnection process. The housing is single-story concrete block with hip or gable shingle roofs, the earliest from the 1960s and 1970s, and many older homes are on their second or third roof by now. Many of Deltona's lakes have no natural outlet, so in very wet years they rise and stay high. After Ian's rain in 2022, flooding near Lake Monroe and around several neighborhood lakes lasted for weeks in places.
Off Providence Boulevard, Howland Boulevard and the older blocks near Interstate 4, owners usually have a 1980s or 1990s house on its second roof with an array from the late 2010s. Some of those systems came from sales companies that have since closed, so warranty paperwork is thin. Near Lake Monroe and the neighborhood lakes, owners who saw water rise after Ian want the outdoor electrical gear looked at as well.

Only a licensed solar or electrical contractor, because a roofing license does not cover it. The reinstall usually needs its own permit and inspection through Volusia County or the city, depending on the address.
Homes in Deltona are generally served by FPL or Duke Energy Florida, depending on the address. When an array goes back on after a roof job the utility usually needs to know, and the building department normally inspects the reinstall before the system is switched back on.
Usually. The installer's own workmanship warranty is gone, but the panels, inverter and optimizers carry manufacturer warranties that normally still apply, and a dead system is often one failed part rather than a worn-out array.

The address, roughly how many panels, who installed them if you know, and what is happening. A photo of the array from the street and one of the inverter get you an accurate number fastest, and texting them is the quickest way to send them.
